Learn how to register and vote
Before you can cast your vote, you need to register. Once you’re registered, you can request a mail-in ballot, or cast your ballot in person.
Even if you’ve already registered to vote, it’s a good idea to check your registration status several months before election day.
Use the links below to register for the first time, update your registration, and check your registration status:
Vote by mail
Voting by mail is safe, secure, and easy. If you’re eligible to vote in Pennsylvania, you can request a mail-in ballot. Out of the country on election day? Away at college? Just don’t feel like standing in line? No problem! You don’t need a reason to vote by mail.
When you get your mail-in ballot, complete and return it right away. Be sure to follow all instructions to make sure your vote is counted.

Vote in person
Of course, you can always cast your ballot in person, if you prefer. How you vote in person depends on the county you live in. You may mark a paper ballot, or you might use a ballot marking device. Either way, all voting systems in Pennsylvania have been updated since 2018. So, you can be sure that no matter how you vote, your voice will be heard.
